Community Partners Program - "Services for the Italian Carers"
An initiative of IBF The project aims to increase understanding for the Carer, care recipient and their families of the aged care sector , both within the community & residential facilities. To ensure and promote culturally appropriate quality services to Carers of frail elderly people, person with a disability, those who may suffer with Dementia, depression and social isolation. The project targets the four metropolitan regions of Adelaide, including rural areas that have a moderate Italian population. An Information day for Carers will be held in collaboration with the opening of the Centro Padre Pio scheduled for June 24th. The day aims to increase understanding and awareness of the aged care sector, promote choice and access to a range of services available in the community and within the residential facilities and launch the Carers Resource Manual - IBF has been working closely with the Advisory Committee in the planning and developed of the carers Resource Manual.
Carers Education
Carers Dementia Education programs are held in collaboration with Alzheimer’s Australia The courses are delivered in Italian and run for 7 weeks. The education program provides education, information and support for Carers caring for some-one with dementia.
To date two courses are held per annual, next course scheduled for September 2009 assisting carers residing in the south / west metro region of Adelaide.

Italian Pension and Tax Services
Patronato per L’Assistenza Sociale (EPASA) provides information and assistance with Italian pensions and tax service weekly from our Renown Park site: located at 222 Torrens Road Renown Park SA 5009 and monthly from Domus Operosa Burton.

HACC Low Level Care Packages
Auspiced by IBF, to work and assist the Tatar Bashkurt community with the development and coordination of their low level care packages.
Community Partners Program
"Caring for Carers" Recent application seeking funding for a 3 year project to work in partnership with the Chinese, Tatar Bashkurt and Italian community. The aim of the project is to develop an information/ training package that will ensure carers from CALD backgrounds have the appropriate information, education and referral to maintain their caring role. The project will work in partnership with Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre's in South Australia.
Carers Retreat
Funds have been sought from Multicultural Community Council to facilitate a one day retreat for Carers in the south, scheduled for Nov 4th 2009.
